AtyKids Experts

When the situation calls for going further.

Some questions are not about what to try tonight. They are about a procedure, a framework, a set of rules that changes from one place to another. The AtyKids Experts take those.

Two specialized domains, not two more assistants.

Why Experts

Why not just ask an Assistant?

Because a tense moment and a question about an administrative procedure do not call for the same kind of answer. Preparing an activity and understanding a legal framework for learning do not either. The Assistants are built for what happens in the day; the Experts are built for questions that need more context, more framing, and a good deal more care about where you live.

They simply do not have the same role.

The two Experts

Two domains, and only two.

An Expert has no first name and no character. It is a domain, not a figure.

Rights & procedures

Understand, organize, prepare a file or an appointment

For making sense of an administrative situation: decoding a term, getting the pieces of a file together, structuring the questions to ask an agency, telling what is already established from what still needs checking, and identifying the next useful step.

  • Decode a term or a letter you do not understand
  • Get the pieces of a file together
  • Prepare the questions to ask before contacting an agency
  • Tell what is established from what still needs checking
  • Identify the next useful step

What it is not It is not a lawyer. It gives no legal advice presented as certain, promises neither an entitlement nor the acceptance of a file nor a timeframe, and says when a qualified professional is needed.

Home education & learning

Understand your country's framework, organize the learning

For home education, on two fronts that must not be mixed: what your jurisdiction actually requires, and the learning itself: breaking a goal into steps, choosing activities, explaining a notion another way, noticing what is already there.

  • Understand what your jurisdiction actually requires
  • Prepare a filing or an assessment
  • Break an objective down into simple activities
  • Explain a notion another way
  • Notice what is already there before changing approach

What it is not It is neither the education authority nor a teacher deciding for the family. It promises no approval, certifies no compliance, and makes no diagnosis of learning difficulties.

You are wondering…

Start from the question, not from the product name.

  • « How do I make sense of this procedure? » Rights & procedures
  • « What should I prepare before this appointment? » Rights & procedures
  • « What do I need to check in this file? » Rights & procedures
  • « What does my jurisdiction actually require? » Home education & learning
  • « How do I organize or adapt this learning? » Home education & learning
  • « How do I turn this objective into activities? » Home education & learning

Where you live

A rule stated for the wrong place is not an approximation.

It is a false rule, and these are subjects where a family can be asked to account for itself. So neither Expert assumes where you live. The language you write in says nothing about it: a French-speaking family may be in France, in Quebec, in Costa Rica or in the United States.

The jurisdiction is asked, never guessed

When the answer depends on it, the Expert asks before stating a rule. When it does not, it answers straight away, with no questionnaire for a question that does not need one.

Sometimes finer than the country

For home education the level can be the state in the United States or the province in Canada. One state's rule is never generalised to the whole country.

Nothing is transposed

A French framework is not assumed to exist elsewhere in the same shape. Each place is described as it is, with the terminology used there.

Sources and explanation

A useful answer has to separate what comes from a source from what is explanation.

The source stays the document

An institution, an official text, a letter you received. AtyKids explains and organizes. It never becomes the source itself.

Nothing is invented

Neither Expert may invent a rule, a form, an authority, a deadline or an address. When something could not be confirmed, saying so is the answer.

Four things kept apart

What a source requires, what a program recommends, what is only a working pointer, and what the Expert suggests. Confusing them turns a suggestion into an obligation.

You decide

The Expert prepares the ground: what is established, what is missing, what to check and with whom. The decision stays yours.

Where each one stops

Four bricks, four jobs.

  • The 6 Assistants “What can I try, now?” A routine, a transition, a tense moment, an activity, an appointment, an observation.
  • The AtyKids Experts “How do I go further on this specialized question?” A procedure, a framework, a set of rules, the learning itself.
  • ATLAS “Who do I turn to?” The professionals, organizations and services around you.
  • The Studio “I need something concrete.” A support you can print and use.

An Expert helps you understand a procedure; ATLAS helps you find support near you. Neither hands over to the other automatically. You go where you need to. Discover ATLAS →

Before going further

Sometimes a word is all that is missing.

To look up a term or read a guide, the free Resources are enough and cost nothing. The Experts are for when the question needs a framework of its own.

The frame

Specialized does not mean authoritative.

  • Non-medical. No Expert makes a diagnosis, of any kind.
  • No Expert decides in your place, and none promises an outcome.
  • Neither replaces a qualified professional; each says when one is needed.
  • Only what you choose to share is used. Sensitive identifiers are not asked for.

FAQ

In plain terms.

What is an AtyKids Expert?

A specialized capability, for questions that need more framing and context than an everyday situation. An Expert has no first name and no character: it is a domain, not a figure.

How is it different from an Assistant?

The role, not the quality. The six Assistants take everyday situations: a routine, a transition, a tense moment, an activity, an appointment to prepare, an observation to put into words. The Experts go deeper on a specialized domain. They are two distinct families. The Experts are not a seventh and an eighth assistant.

Which Experts exist at launch?

Two: Rights & procedures, and Home education & learning. It is a closed set.

Does Rights & procedures replace a lawyer?

No, and it says so itself. It helps you make sense of an administrative situation, decode a term, get the pieces of a file together, structure the questions to ask, and identify the next useful step. It gives no legal advice presented as certain, promises neither an entitlement, nor the acceptance of a file, nor a timeframe, and flags when a qualified professional is needed.

Does Home education & learning replace a professional?

No. It helps on two fronts: understanding what your jurisdiction actually requires, and organizing the learning itself: breaking down a goal, choosing activities, noticing progress. It does not decide for you, promises no approval, and makes no diagnosis.

Do the Experts take my country into account?

Yes, and it is a rule rather than an option: neither of them assumes a country. When the answer depends on the jurisdiction, the Expert asks for it before stating a rule. For home education the level can be finer than the country (the state in the United States, the province in Canada), and one state's rule is never generalised to the whole country.

Do the Experts use sources?

Both are forbidden from inventing a rule, a form, an authority, a deadline or an address, and both separate what an official source requires from what is merely a suggestion. When something could not be confirmed, the Expert says so and points to the competent authority: the Expert explains and organizes, the source remains the document or the institution.

Are the Experts included in AtyKids Premium?

Yes. The Experts are part of AtyKids Premium, along with the six Assistants, ATLAS and the Studio.

For adults who support a neurodivergent child.
