The common protocol

An element is kept in the common protocol only if it is recommended by at least two authorities from different countries. That is what separates it from a national recommendation exported abroad.

  1. Never shake a baby: it can cause serious or fatal brain injury.

  2. When an adult feels they are losing control, stop the interaction with the baby.

  3. Put the baby somewhere safe, for example their crib, on their back.

  4. Leave the room for a few minutes, long enough to regain your composure.

  5. Calming yourself comes before calming the crying; go back regularly to check that the baby is safe, without picking them up until you have regained your composure.

  6. Ask someone to take over: a relative, a person you trust, or professional help.

The instructions we write ourselves

You read these sentences inside the flows. They do not come from the common protocol: each rests on a single authority, named here, whose page you can open. An instruction carried by one agency is not an international consensus, and we do not present it as one.

The local layer

Reporting numbers, portals and services belong to each jurisdiction. They are never inferred from a neighbouring territory.

No AI in the critical paths

The three emergency paths are written entirely in advance. No language model is called, no web search is run, and nothing you type leaves your device.

Stated limits

An identified gap is better than an invented fact. Here are the ones we declare.

Updates
